Unity Club Intwararumuri is set to celebrate its 25th anniversary this year

Unity Club Intwararumuri, an organization that brings together current and former cabinet members and their spouses, whose chairperson her Excellency Jeannette KAGAME is on its front line, is set to celebrate its 25th anniversary this year. This silver jubilee which will be coincide with the 14th annual Forum of Unity Club Intwararumuri, will be celebrated under the theme, Ndi Umunyarwanda Agaciro Kacu”, loosely translated asNdi Umunyarwanda our dignity.

In alignment with celebrating the its 25th anniversary, Unity Club Intwararumuri has put in place a series of diversified activities which started from  April 2021 and will close in October 2021 on the day of the 14th annual forum of Unity Club Intwararumuri. Those activities were prepared  in accordance with the plans of Unity Club in this year as well as its usual activities. Read more

#Kwibuka27: Her Excellency First Lady Jeannette KAGAME, the Chairperson of Unity Club Intwararumuri asked the elders to teach the real history of Rwanda to the youth

During the 27th commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi, Unity Club Intwararumuri planned different activities including conveying the messages via short videos and photo quotes on social media platforms whereby members, beneficiaries as well as partners of Unity Club Intwararumuri offered their various messages through this approach.

In this respect, on April 15, 2021 Her Excellency First Lady Jeannette KAGAME, the Chairperson of Unity Club Intwararumuri reminded the elders that the legacy that they should leave behind for their children is to teach them the real history of Rwanda. Read more

Ndi Umunyarwanda Platform on Radio Rwanda/ March 21, 2021: The woman’s role in strengthening Rwandan sprit

On March 21, 2020, the monthly programme was presented (Ndi Umunyarwanda Platform on Radio Rwanda), it is prepared in partnership with Unity Club Intwararumuri, National Commission of Unity and Reconciliation and Rwanda Broadcasting Agency, it focused on the woman’s role in strengthening Rwandan sprit.

In this programme different guests were invited, namely; Hon. Espérance NYIRASAFARI, a member of Unity Club Intwararumuri who is also the vice president of the Rwandan Parliament Chamber of Senate, Mr. Venant NZABONIMANA, the chairperson of the board of directors of RWAMREC and Madam Athanasie MUKANKUSI from the National Youth Council. Ndi Umunyarwanda Platform on Radio Rwanda/ April 11, 2021: Gripping the covenant of Rwandan sprit

Through the monthly programme (Ndi Umunyarwanda Platform on Radio Rwanda), presented on Sunday April 11, 2021 in partnership with Unity Club Intwararumuri, National Commission of Unity and Reconciliation and RBA, the conversations revolved around the 27th commemoration of the Genocide Against Tutsi as well as gripping to the covenant of Rwandanism.

In that programme, different guests were invited: Hon. Dr. Jeanne d’Arc MUJAWAMARIYA, a member of Unity Club Intwararumuri who is also the Minister of Environment, Mr. Fidèle NDAYISABA, the Executive Secretary of the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission (NURC) as well as Hon. Prof. Jean Pierre DUSINGIZEMUNGU, a Senator and the former president of IBUKA an umbrella organisation that connects the groups that aid survivors of the Genocide Against Tutsi. Read more

Unity Club Intwararumuri reserves the month of June for the activities of strengthening Intwaza as one of the activities done under the 27th Commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi

In the month of June 2021, Unity Club members have visited Intwaza the elderly widows who lost their families during the Genocide against Tutsi, living in Impinganzima hostels built in different parts of the country in order to strengthen them in the period of 100 days of the 27th commemoration of the Genocide Against the Tutsi.

On June 3, 2021, Unity Club Intwararumuri members visited Intwaza the elders widowed by the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi, living in the Impinganzima hostel in Rusizi district for the 27th commemoration of the genocide against the Tutsi, on June 11 they visited and strengthened Intwaza living in Impinganzima of  Bugesera district, on June15 they visited and strengthened Intwaza living in the Impinganzima of Nyanza district; on June18 members of Unity Club Intwararumuri closed these activities in Huye district whereby they visited and strengthened Intwaza at Impinganzima hostels in Huye district. #Kwibuka27: During the 27th commemoration period of the Genocide against Tutsi, Unity Club Intwararumuri prepared virtual talks to its members

Owing to Covid-19 plague to remember through gathering and sharing face-to-face conversations did not happen in 2021 and 2020 the way it used to be, it was done virtually. Consequently, during 100-day commemoration period of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, Unity Club Intwararumuri had prepared virtual talks via cisco WebEx.

Among those talks that were given during the time of remembering there is one on “The role of authorities and parents in fighting the minimizing and denial of the Genocide against the Tutsi.It was offered by Hon. Christophe BAZIVAMO on May 8, 2021. The other theme was “the role of authorities and parents in teaching the youth the values of patriotism.It was offered by Hon. Espérance NYIRASAFARI on April 12, 2021, and the talk on “Preventing Genocide ideology and the crimes associated with it.” which was presented by Dr. Jean Damascene BIZIMANA, the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for the Fight Against Genocide (CNLG) on May 11, 2021. Ndi Umunyarwanda Platform on Radio Rwanda/ May 16, 2021: Ndi Umunyarwanda in public service

On May 16, 2021, the monthly programme (Ndi Umunyarwanda Platform on Radio Rwanda) produced in partnership with Unity Club Intwararumuri, National Commission of Unity and Reconciliation as well as RBA, was produced and laid the emphasis on Ndi Umunyarwanda in public service and work.

Different guests were invited to the programme, namely: Hon. Angelina MUGANZA, a member of Unity Club Intwararumuri and the Executive Secretary of the National Public Service Commission (NPSC), and Mr. Robert BAPFAKURERA, the Chairperson of the Private Sector Federation (PSF) in Rwanda, and Mr. Callixte MFITAMAHORO, Managing director of Collection Africa Limited. On 18-19 May 2021, Unity Club Intwararumuri offered trainings to the guardians of covenant (Abarinzi b’Igihango) at national level

On 18-19 May 2021, at Centre d’accueil St François d’Assise Kigali, trainings of the15 guardians of covenant (Abarinzi b’Igihango) at national level took place under the theme “Umurinzi w’Igihango mu mujishi wa Ndi Umunyarwanda” loosely translated as the guardian of covenant via Ndi Umunyarwanda ideology”, it was prepared by Unity Club in partnership with the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission and Rosa Luxemburg Foundation-East African (RLF-EA).

These trainings were prepared through Ndi Umunyarwanda Integration Project, the project under which Unity Club Intwararumuri is sponsored by Rosa Luxemburg Foundation-East African (RLF-EA), and they were prepared in order to keep improving the skills of the guardians of covenant (Abarinzi b’Igihango) in chairing the discussions of Ndi Umunyarwanda and in order to keep contributing to planting Ndi Umunyarwanda   into daily lives of Rwandans. Unity Club Intwararumuri has prepared competitions of Ndi Umunyarwanda for Higher Learning Institutions in order to encourage the youth to carry out research

Unity Club Intwararumuri through ‘Ndi Umunyarwanda Integration Project” sponsored by Rosa Luxemburg Foundation-East African (RLF-EA), in partnership with the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission, Ministry of Youth and Culture, and Rwanda Defense Force Command and Staff College (RDFCSC), has prepared competitions of Ndi Umunyarwanda for Higher Learning Institutions on the theme, “Ndi Umunyarwanda: the legacy we must scramble for, maintain and put first”.

These competitions are for students of the following eight Higher Learning Institutions: IPRC Musanze, INES Ruhengeri, University of Technology and Arts of Byumba (UTAB), Institut Catholique de Kabgayi (ICK), University of Rwanda (College of Education, Rukara Campus), University of Rwanda (College of Agriculture & Veterinary Medicine, Busogo Campus), Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR), and UNILAK Kigali. Students from these Higher Learning Institutions will compete in four different forms: Essay writing, Songs, Poems, and Sketches. Read more
