Go Back15 April 2021
Through the monthly programme (Ndi Umunyarwanda Platform on Radio Rwanda), presented on Sunday April 11, 2021 in partnership with Unity Club Intwararumuri, National Commission of Unity and Reconciliation and RBA, the conversations revolved around the 27th commemoration of the Genocide Against Tutsi as well as gripping to the covenant of Rwandanism.
In that programme, different guests were invited: Hon. Dr. Jeanne d’Arc MUJAWAMARIYA, a member of Unity Club Intwararumuri who is also the Minister of Environment, Mr. Fidèle NDAYISABA, the Executive Secretary of the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission (NURC) as well as Hon. Prof. Jean Pierre DUSINGIZEMUNGU, a Senator and the former president of IBUKA – an umbrella organisation that connects the groups that aid survivors of the Genocide Against Tutsi.
During that programme, Mr. NDAYISABA highlighted that the Rwandan sprit which was in the hearts of Inkotanyi is the one which enabled them to liberate the country as well as putting an end to the Genocide Against Tutsi.
He said, “Rwandan sprit kept being in the hearts of Rwandans though they were denied to come back home from refuges, they liberated the country and stopped the Genocide against Tutsi. Inkotanyi did not attack Rwanda but rescued her instead.”
Hon. Prof. DUSINGIZEMUNGU J. Pierre said that Ndi Umunyarwanda is the cure of the wounds of survivors of the Genocide against Tutsi. “Ndi Umunyarwanda is the cure of the wounds of survivors of the Genocide against Tutsi because now we are no longer referred to as cockroaches or cancer etc. we are Rwandans.’ He put it.
Hon. Prof. DUSINGIZEMUNGU added, “the ones who are not proud of the good of Ndi Umunyarwanda and more that Rwanda has attained lack a lot, they are worth teaching because they are harming themselves.”
Hon. Dr. Jeanne d’Arc MUJAWAMARIYA rotated around the creation of Unity Club Intwararumuri and said that it is not restricted to only leaders and that it teaches all Rwandans to clutch to Ndi Umunyarwanda.
She put it, “Unity Club Intwararumuri was introduced by her Excellency First Lady Jeannette KAGAME a little bit later after Genocide against Tutsi, it started with the goal of healing the wounds and clutching to the covenant of Rwandan sprit.”
Hon. Jeanne d’Arc MUJAWAMARIYA closed the programme by clarifying, “in Unity Club Intwararumuri we do not restrict ourselves to leaders only because we are the light bearers, and of course the light does not enlighten for us only; accordingly, we put Ndi Umunyarwanda first as well as planting it by starting at home as it is the most prominent identity of all Rwandans.”
