Ndi Umunyarwanda Platform on Radio Rwanda/ March 21, 2021: The woman’s role in strengthening Rwandan sprit

On March 21, 2020, the monthly programme was presented (Ndi Umunyarwanda Platform on Radio Rwanda), it is prepared in partnership with Unity Club Intwararumuri, National Commission of Unity and Reconciliation and Rwanda Broadcasting Agency, it focused on the woman’s role in strengthening Rwandan sprit.
In this programme different guests were invited, namely; Hon. Espérance NYIRASAFARI, a member of Unity Club Intwararumuri who is also the vice president of the Rwandan Parliament –Chamber of Senate, Mr. Venant NZABONIMANA, the chairperson of the board of directors of RWAMREC and Madam Athanasie MUKANKUSI from the National Youth Council.
In that show, Madam Athanasie MUKANKUSI said that there are some families in which division is still in place which is the reason why some youth still divide, and asked the youth to unite against those who long for making the country move backward.
She underlined, “some divisions originate from families and we, the youth, also grow up in families; therefore, it is the reason why some of the youth are still characterized by division and genocide ideology”.
Madam Athanasie MUKANKUSI continued, “we, the youth, have got enough teachings and were given various opportunities in order to develop ourselves, it is now our turn to keep objecting to the ones who wish to make us lose our way; especially, those who use social media platforms.”
When it came to Mr. Venant NZABONIMANA, he requested parents not to feed their children with genocide ideology since they witnessed its damage. He said, “Having undergone the hard time of Genocide against Tutsi and being able to get out of it, no one is supposed to still be feeding their children with genocide ideology because we witnessed its devastation.”
Hon. Esperance NYIRASAFARI said that a woman is the mother of a person, in this line she should always be away from the bad of any sort, and next she requested Rwandans to keep striving for their unity as they sealed it themselves into the constitution.
Hon. NYIRASAFARI Esperance put it this way, “a woman is the mother of a person, and she should always distance herself from the bad of any sort. Being together for building on unity was found our only choice we have to keep us progressing as Rwandans.”
She went on, “among the basic principles on which our country is built as we voted this as Rwandans to be part of the constitution, we chose to always prioritize the unity of Rwandans and to fully uproot divisions.”
Hon. NYIRASAFARI Esperance concluded the programme by thanking women. “we appreciate the fact that the woman has used the opportunity given to her by the country and kept developing Rwanda, and yet she can’t do it alone; for this reason, all of us Rwandans are requested to keep standing together for the development of our country.” She said.
