First Lady Jeannette Kagame has tipped members of Unity Club on the importance of a clear transgenerational ideology in building a strong, sovereign nation that takes care of her citizens. Her Excellency Jeannette Kagame made the remarks on Saturday, October 16 during the 14th annual forum of Unity Club which was combined with the 25th anniversary of the club’s establishment. Ahead of its 14th Annual Forum and 25th anniversary celebration, On Friday, October 15, 2021, Unity Club hosted a General Assembly, followed by its annual members’ retreat. During the General Assembly, a new executive committee of Unity Club was elected, and it is led by Hon. Marie-Solange Kayisire as the 1st vice Chairperson and Madam Julienne Uwacu as the 2nd vice Chairperson. Read more |

Unity Club Intwararumuri has been operating in Huye district, since 2016. It joined hands with its partners to look after elders who were widowed by the genocide perpetrated against Tutsi in 1994. (They were given the name of Intwaza because they were able to undergo severe pain which enabled them to successfully live by as well as make progress). Most of them are elders who live with serious shock and diseases. Read more |

In December 2021, the members of Unity Club visited the elderly widows & widowers (Intwaza) who live in Impinganzima hostels in Huye, Bugesera, Nyanza & Rusizi Districts to celebrate together and wish them a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2022. The Unity Club members sent them gifts that include attire, bedsheets, and many more. Read more |

Unity Club Intwararumuri through “Ndi Umunyarwanda Integration Project” sponsored by Rosa Luxemburg Foundation-East African (RLF-EA), in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Culture, Rwanda Defense Force Command and Staff College (RDFCSC), and the former National Unity and Reconciliation Commission, has set competitions of Ndi Umunyarwanda for Higher Learning Institutions on the theme, “Ndi Umunyarwanda: the legacy we must scramble for, maintain and put first”. The Colonial and post-colonial Rwanda up until 1994 was distinguished by long years of poor leadership based on the premise of a “divide and rule” practice along ethnic, religious, and regional lines, among others. This unfortunate state of affairs eventually culminated in the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi that lasted for 100 days, claiming over 1 million victims in its wake. Anarchy reigned over the land and seemed unstoppable until the RPF intervention through its RPA wing (led by HE Paul Kagame) ended the genocide carnage on the 4th of July 1994. Read more |
